Welcome, Foolish Mortals...

Wow, what fun! I costumed up with my friends at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I didn't really have a particular ghost, but that's okay. I loved every minute of it!

I'm just going to throw the pictures up here. I'll have to come back to the stories. I will! I will! I promise!

Stories is best told through the pictures anyhow. More will come later (I hope) from different cameras.

Anyway, this is the tale of Gina, Darrell, Liz, Steve, Jesse, Detag, Nicole, and myself.

"The spirits have received your sympathic vibrations and are beginning to materialize"...

The whole process took from 1:00 until about 7:30. Most applied their own make up. Jesse, Gina and me needed the most outside help. There was a lot to do. Bald caps. Contact lens. And lots and lots of blue and white makeup, sometimes in places you might not expect. Like in the ears, up the nose, and in the eyelids.

Then, it was off to the Magic Kingdom. Below are random shots taken throughout the night.

Oh yeah. We were celebrities, some more than others. Particularly the Bride, the Hitchhiking Ghosts, and the Ballerina. We had to keep telling people we were guests and not cast members. Even some cast members where asking for a photo op!

And here is the three part group photo, sans Gina the photographer.

Plus a fully present shot taken with some Haunted Mansion Cast Members, taken by an Imagineer.

"And now, the ghosts will follow you home! Hahahahaha....!"

Family Visit Wrap Up

Well, Abbey and Mom came to visit recently. I worked a lot during their visit, but we certainly had a great time.

It was fun having some new visitors. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. There will be much more pictures later, but below are some views from our porch and also a trail. Little Disney bunnies were right off the trail and I snapped their photos as well.

Plus, there was a geyser (Fire Rock Geyser). I went out early one morning and got some shots of it erupting.

Heading back to the room, I noticed some unusual guests taking advantage of the resort's swimming pool...

We had dinner at a few restuarants, including the Whispering Canyon, the Garden Grove and the Biergarten. We also went to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Here's a quick photo of a Disney K-9 unit helping protect the entrance at the Magic Kingdom.

I'll sum up my work tomorrow. There was lots of sweat. And not just my own.

(That's what we call a teaser, kids.)

Let's wrap up the restuarant tour which was certainly a memorable part of the trip.

Now, at the Whispering Canyon, the waitresses yell at you, throw straws, and generally embarass you. And if you need ketchup, you must yell across the restuarant. Those not using their ketchup are required to bring you their ketchup, so you get like 15 or 20 bottles.

So mom ate in quiet fear.

Abbey's favorite was the Biergarten in Germany (Epcot).

She kept talking in German. Which was annoying because the rest of us don't speak German. And no. I'm not particularly proud of this picture in case you were wondering.

By far the most memorable was the Garden Grove, a character dinner.

Pluto and Goofy were wandering around. Here's Pluto.

For some reason, I think Pluto caught Abbey off guard.

"Abbey! Look behind you!"

I love Pluto, so I had to get my photo with the pooch.

If you look carefully, his tag reads "If found, please return to Mickey Mouse". How precious!

Goofy surprized us.

Especially Mom...

Abbey just tried to ignore the situation.

Or maybe she was trying to wish herself somewhere else. I'm not sure...

Either way, I think she was embarrassed by the encounter.

But don't feel too bad for Abbey. She'll get her revenge.

I think Goofy got the point in the end...

Goofy did forgive us as he came around later and gave us a nice shot of us all.

Good times. Good times.

And see Mom? I didn't publish that embarrassing picture of you wearing Mickey Ears inspired by Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas character, Jack Skeleton.

Yet.

Now just imagine that face on a hat with spider web ears.

You know, pictures are so much easier. Sorry mom.

So let's look at the censored version.

Disney's Pop Century Resort Photo Shoot

This is the first of hopefully many photo essays around Walt Disney World. I start with the resort where Stephanie and I stayed last week, Disney's Pop Century Resort.

This resort salutes the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's, and the 1990's.

The lobby has several collages from the different eras.

The suitcase vehicles are in the shape of luggage themselves! They assist guests boarding buses, such as the one pulled up, Disney's Cruise Line Transportation.

There were several little nuggets of fun all over, such as Surfing Goofy and the Potato Heads.

However, there was also a lot of Stitch.

That's right. Much of the resort was getting a makeover and new layer of paint, so I apologize for the workers and equiptment.

Each section was divided into the decades, each with a unique very large staircase, facade, and huge statues.

We begin in 1950 with bowling pin staircases and pool area, sock hop fronts, and large statues of Lady, the Tramp, and a jukebox. The pool was really neat with bowling ball racks and a laundry facility like a shoe rental shelf.

Moving to 1960 with the Hippie Dippie Pool, yo-yo stairs, flower child fronts, and oversized Jungle Book and Play-Doh characters.

The 1970's do not have a pool, but they do have a giant fuseball replica, Mickey phone (under refurbishment), and Big Wheel. The facade contained platform shoes, mood rings, and disco dancers. The stairs were 8-track tapes.

Let's look at that Big Wheel from a different angle.

Wait a second. What size child can it accomidate?

That is one big kid!

The 1980's is where Stephanie and I stayed, right behind the Pac-Man and Break dancer decorations with our neighbors Roger Rabbit and a soon-to-be newly painted Walkman. The stairs were Rubix cubes.

The pool area was computer themed and was shared with the 1990's area.

The 90's had a large computer while the stairs were cellphones. It was also decorated with CD's and rollerblades.

That's about it from Pop Century. More resorts to come.
