I noticed this yesterday when reporting on the death of Rypien.
If you go to ESPN's Winnipeg Jets' Roster Page, you can click on the images of the different players and it brings up their individual pages.
Many still have a Thrashers logo behind them. Now, I know that the Winnipeg team doesn't have the jerseys out yet, but I'm talking about the background. It's Thrashers. I'm familiar with a team showing a player newly aquired in the old team jersey (sometimes for a while) in rosters, but this isn't that.
ESPN just doesn't have their act together. You have key players, like Byfuglien and Antropov with the Thrashers logo.
That is sorta kinda understandable, but not really. Now, there are also players that have never played for the team in Atlanta and were signed after the move and they too have the Thrashers background, like Meech and Rypien.
Okay, that makes no sense whatsoever. But then there's run-of-the-mill players, like Stapleton, that have a newish look with the Winnipeg Jets logo.
Oh, and the roster still shows Craig Ramsey as the Head Coach.
For the record, the Jets have named Claude Noel as the coach.
My point being this is not really an odd tribute to the Thrashers, but a look into how ESPN is probably not the place to get information about hockey.
