The Dallas Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Finals.
I'm happy because I'm a hater of the whole James thing. I can understand if a player wants to leave and join another team for a chance to win a championship. I get that. But to draw it out the way he did. Not to be honest and upfront with his hometown people in Cleveland is rough.
Now, in fairness, the televised event where he announced his choice city was done to benefit the Boys and Girls Club, but still. It is not worth the drawnout ordeal.
So this picture makes me happy.
So does this one.
Again, I'm a hater. I've never been a big NBA fan for several reasons, but Dallas winning the Finals over Miami is a good thing in my opinion. It keeps the NBA from absolutely being exiled by me. Seriously, if the Heat had won, I would have shuned the sport forever. It would essentially prove that all you need is a handful of superstars. No need for a team around them. No building a program. No loyalty. All fanfare. Pure entertainment with no longterm sportsmanship needed.
Is it weird that I strongly pulled for a team in the NBA Finals but not the NHL Stanley Cup?

Is it sad that I know Mark Cuban not for his ownership of the Dallas Mavericks, but because he held the world record for the largest online purchase at one time; a Gulfstream IV jet to be specific.
