Unplanned Monorail Stunt Show

This will be short because I am typing with one hand. The other is in a sling, both legs are a little messed up, one more than another.

I fell on unmarked wet concrete on the Grand Floridian platform. It happened as I was trying close a door on Monorail Red.

I fell hard. Very hard. It hurt (and contines to hurt) like hell when the medication runs low. But that's only of I move it the wrong way. At this point, I've kinda figured out how to move without much pain.

And here I am...

I spent all day yesterday (9:30 till 6:30) in waiting rooms and seeing a slew of Disney doctors in a facility located behind Norway in Epcot by the way. The doctors debated what kind of injury it is. One doctor thinks it's broken. One thinks its a deep (bone?) bruise. My follow up is Friday. Luckily, I had today and tomorrow off anyway. As far as Friday, I'm not going in to regular work. I may do light duty somewhere, but not on the monorail or its platforms.

More updates to come when I can on my assignment and arm.

All of this happened on the same day I was going to go to a UCF volleyball game as I have become a fan of the sport. I'm not saying Stephanie sabotaged the platform on the day I planned on seeing two squads of girls compete against one another, but the "accident" is very timely, isn't it? If anyone can verify Stephanie's whereabouts from 0330 until 0545 on Tuesday, please email me.

Oh, I don't have a roommate right now. He moved out and he has yet to be replaced.

Since the room is now clean (after the recent departure), I decided to finally post pictures of the room and complex, Chatham Square, as well as my most recent meal so all of you concerned about my eating habits can sorta relax. I'm talking to you Mom, Stephanie, Brenda, maybe Chuck Bell. It's beef stroganoff, peas, garlic mashed potato, french butter bread, and grape Gatorade.

Wait, is that a stormtrooper helmet (aka bucket) on the table by the computer?

We'll get back the bucket later. First I wanted to share the latest Stephanie letter.

It's modeled after the over-hyped Electric Light Show on the Seven Seas Lagoon, the first thing I saw at Disney World three years ago. I've seen better decorations in people's front yards at Christmas but I guess it's suppose to be all nostalgic. I don't get it.

Here's the latest at Sid's trivia in Hollywood Studios.

By the way, that bucket is actually my new piggy bank.

Mickey's Star Wars Pool Party

Well, let me catch everyone up on everything. Mickey Mouse hosted a welcoming party, Star Wars themed.

(Sorry! At the time I didn't realize how bad the glare was!)

Mostly, this story will be told by pictures. Let me start off by saying I'm so glad that Darrell wasn't there today. He would have gone bananas over the costumes.

Aren't stormtroopers suppose to have butt-bombs? Not ours! And yes, this character was referred to as a Stormtrooper, not Sandtrooper. The handlers were dressed and Imperial officer. They liked my shirt.

Right after this photo was taken, I told the handler the troopers leg armor had come undone. It was quickly and secretly corrected.

So the party started with the geeks and nerds arriving early. They played at least ten different versions of the Imperial March and had light saber noises. There was trivia, all of which was easy. Except one question. Who taught Obi Wan the ways of the force?

A massive argument broke out over whether the answer was Yoda or Quigon. I just left the frey. It wasn't worth the beach towel.

Leia, Luke and Han were there but I didn't get a good picture with any of them. I was busy waiting in line for pizza, sodas, chips, and ice cream. Beyond the mingling there were also two very popular character lines I decided to wait in.

Explain this to me: it was a pool party but Leia did not wear the gold bikini. Odd. That's why I decided against her line in favor of Vader and Jedi Mickey.

Now Darrell, look away. Jesse, don't cry. Here's me with "Darth Vader"

Not only am I doing a more traditional Vader-ish pose, I'm slightly leaning forward. I know, I know. Vader doesn't lean forward. But my point is this: even though I'm tilting my head, I'm still just about as tall as Vader.

So, I guess they didn't make him wear the uncomforatble lifts I wore at the Fanboys movie opening. You can see my transformation here at the fitting session.

Okay Darrell. It's okay to look. Jesse, it's fine now. Come back to me.

By the way, the blonde officer wasn't exactly ugly if you catch my meaning.

(Hi Stephanie!)

There was only one character that was sorta freely roaming. A Tusken Raider.

He was fairly popular himself. He would go through the other lines and sorta mingle around. Pretty fun guy. I did stop him long enough for a photo.

Awesome. I love this shot.

At some point, someone must have flipped a switch and suddenly it was a traditional college pool party. Tons and tons of people swarmed the pool and dance area. The characters stayed around, but in their little areas. The Tusken Raider continued to wander for a bit, but eventually he faded away as well.

Not exactly my cup of tea, so I decided to go ahead and split. I did see some interesting cars in the parking lot. Check out these two photos, both of the same vehicle.

And this car. I don't know if it actually works or not. I hope not.

I also noticed an interesting signature in the sidewalk between complexes.

Let's see. Did I post everything? What am I forgeting?

Of course!

Me and Jedi Mickey.

WE WON

Finally!

We won at Mellow Mushroom Trivia!

It was glorious.

Unfortunately, there was no photo to document the event. I've recreated the celebration of myself, Alex, Jed, and Kyle. My apologies to my friends who are legit animators.

Rock out. Or in the words of Alex: SUCK IT THUNDERCATS! Unfortunately, that particular team wasn't competing last night, but the Lab Rats, Wildwood, PMS, and several other popular enemies were there. One of the stick figures was modeled after Alex. Three guesses which one it is. By the way, if it's not playing, shoot me an email and I'll send it to you.

We all had out specialities tonight. Kyle knew which states bordered Kansas. Alex knew who the spokesperson for Colt 45 was. I don't remember what particular question Jed mastered tonight (at least one doesn't come to mind), but he pulled out an abundance of oddball answers from his butt. It happened with such consistancy, it was awe-inspiring. I brought it home by naming the five teams in the NHL's Southeastern Division. We all agreed on several answers and I'm not giving due credit to all, but it was a great night for trivia. $50 in Mellow Cash.

Unfornately, two things happened at trivia. First, we had already paid our bills before we knew the final standings. Second, this was my last night at Mellow Mushroom trivia before going to Disney.

I told Stephanie and she was very happy for us. Our discussion then turned to Star Wars.

Poor sweet Stephanie. She's not the biggest fan of the Wars, but she tries and knows a pretty decent amount for someone who's only seen Episodes I II IV V and VI, once each. Of course, there is some humor in her misunderstandings. She said she'd like a flow chart to keep up with who's died, who's related to who, who comes back (?) and alliances.

Luckily, there's the internet. Hopefully, this helps.
