NBA's Championship Ring Pops & Lock Outs

So, as mentioned, the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA Championships. Which is awesome because the Big Three of the Miami Heat did not.

But their owner, Mark Cuban, might not give them a championship ring because he feels they are "old school" mentioning he was going to come up with something new. Perhaps braclets.

Some of the players are really not liking that idea. They fought hard all season long and beat the "destiny team" to win the NBA Championship. And Cuban doesn't want to fork over the money for some bling?

Well, the Bazooka Candy Company is coming to the rescue.

“Bazooka Candy Brands, the iconic confectionary company and manufacturer of Ring Pops, believes that the Dallas Mavericks should be rewarded for all their hard work and their NBA Finals win,” the company said in a statement.

“That is why they will be stepping in and saving the day, creating Swarovski-encrusted Ring Pops in the team colors of Blue and White for the team to wear to celebrate their feat.

The Ring Pops will be shipped to the team shortly.”

Ooo! Let me see! Let me see!

Nice.

But it shows how greedy the NBA owners are becoming. Which is why they, like the NFL, are locked out.

I will not get into either lock out in much detail. Mainly because I don't know enough.

But I am thrilled the NBA is locked out and hope they stay that way for at least a year if but for one reason, and one reason alone. To put the hurt on the Atlanta Spirit Group.

After selling the Thrashers, their other "big money maker" is the Atlanta Hawks. True, there are the concerts and the Atlanta Dream WNBA, but I have to believe the Hawks and Thrashers were where the money comes from. Concessions and such. Concerts probably come with lofty concession takes as well as merchandise skims, and more people in the building buying tickets, but there are not as many of them. The Philips Arena Calendar only shows a few events for the month of July. Three WNBA Dream games, two dates with Sade, one Britney Spears concert (didn't know she was touring), and that's it. Taylor Swift was originally there, but now she's rescheduled.

I really hope the NBA lock out puts the hurt in the financial pockets of the ASG.

Not that I'm bitter still over their treatment of the Thrashers thing. No that's all in the past. [where's the sarcasm font?]
