Thoughts and Prayers with Norway

As you may know, there was a terrorist attack in Norway today.

There was a bomb explosion in Oslo and a shooter at a youth camp nearby.

Police are reporting that it appears both attacks were done by the same person.

Read more here.

For those reasons, Hockey Cop is temporarily taking on the color red since it is prominate in Norway's flag in their honor.

UPDATE(from Yahoo):

The death toll is much worse than first reported. It is above 80 at the camp alone.

The shooter dressed a police officer, motioned people over, then started shooting them. The camp was on an island, so many fled into the water for safety. He shot the people in the water. Some acted dead to protect themselves. The shooter went to each body he could and shot each person in the head with a shotgun.

A suspect in the shooting was taken into custody after SWAT invaded the island.

When he dies, may he rot in hell. That may be a while since Norway does not use the death penalty and hasn't since 1905.

I must say I generally do not agree with the death penalty (at least not the current American version), but my initial reaction to the Norway terrorist is to abandon my position and let this SOB fry.

My condolences to Norway.

  1. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and loved ones, and, indeed to the entire Nation of Norway. Having worked at Walt Disney World for many years, alongside the Norwegians who worked at EPCOT Center, I fell in love with the people, their heritage, culture, and geographical landscape! Though I've never traveled there, it's certainly a place suffering right now. We love You, Norway, and pray for you.
