Boston Bruins Ice Girls

The Boston Bruins Ice Girls.

Yes, we are heading up to the Stanley Cup Champs today as we countdown towards the Jets season opener.

I am no longer going to say which squad is the most difficult to find pictures of because I keep getting surprised.

Needless to say, there aren't a lot of in game action pictures of the Bruins girls. Here is the very few I found worth posting.

Yeah, that's it. A slightly blurry skater with a flag by Blades, the mascot. Some bee costumes and the girls drinking something from Dunkin' Donuts and tickets I'm assuming they are giving away since they probably get in to the arena for free themselves.

But be ye not afraid. Because there are plenty of pictures of the ladies from their bio pages from years past. I'm not exactly sure which years past (for the most part), but that doesn't matter all that much. In fact, I'm not positive the link above is for this year's girls as the Bruins leave the Ice Girls page from each year up. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

I do want to start with 8 different girls (four from this season, four from last) that have something notable in their bios.

Let's start with this year's squad.

First, we have the lovely Holly.

Among other things, Holly is afraid of clowns. I can't imagine why.

Now, there's a girl after my own heart: Kristen.

Kristen is big on the greek pizza. As am I. Covered in all the olives. That is certainly the way to go!

She also mentions she can't swim, so that might be a problem.

I love swimming, so I guess there's still some areas of incaptability there.

Jen K is our next Bruins Ice Girl.

Now, Jen K tells the story of her most embarrassing moment.

"I fell down the escalator at Trader Joe's and my groceries went flying everywhere. Every single person, was staring at me."

It's funny, but not really. There have been several really bad accidents with escalators, particularly at sporting events. Luckily, this one was just embarrassing.

To finish up the look at the bios from this year's squad, we have Sam.

Sam and I were cut from the same mold. I quote her bio where she talks about her bad habits: "Having to be so early for everything I do. Also I over analyze everything. That is a terrible habit."

I have the over analyzing thing too. And the being early gene. Neither one are particularly desirable. So I feel your pain, girl.

Now, we turn to last year's squad. I think. Again, not sure. But let's assume I'm right.

We begin our tour of yesteryear with Niki.

Niki is asked about a hidden talent. Her answer, and I quote: "I can eat an entire large cheese pizza all to myself."

That's kinda awesome that she can eat a whole pizza by herself. A little gross but mostly awesome.

For a more cute answer, let's talk with Kasey.

She wanted to be a dinosaur when she grew up.

That's precious!

Will Jesse be as precious in her answer?

What is Jesse's favorite holiday? "Halloween."

Not precious, but an amazing answer! Yes! A girl after my own heart. Good answer Sunshine!

Finally, let's meet Fasha.

She was asked about a hidden talent. Her answer: "I can eat an entire cheese pizza all by myself."

That's awesome, but also a little...hold on second. Did she just give the same answer as Niki? It could be a typo, but the rest of the bio was different so I'm guessing both girls had the same answer. And didn't Kristen (who was on the squad both years) also talk about pizza?

Are these girls sponsored by a pizza chain?

No. They just love pizza. I'm thinking there is a marketing opportunity being missed here. I know Boston is Dunkin Donut land, but is there not a Dominos near TD Garden? They do have an awesome commerical. The last second is my favorite.

By the way, there are a few Dominos in Boston. Someone needs to get on the phone and get this deal done. I'm talking to you, Jen Compton, VP of Marketing for the Boston Bruins.

Great. Now I'm hungry. What was I talking about?

Oh yeah. Ice Girls.

I present the pictures I was able to find from the bio pages, starting with what I believe is this year's squad.

These are the girls from last season.

And some more from a squad from who knows when.

Congrats on your Stanley Cup victory, ladies.

Let's Go Bruins!
